Perspective

“When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change”

~ Wayne Dyer

There is a favorite quote I like to share and have posted a few times, but the attribution got a little complicated, alternated between Max Plank and to Wayne Dyer. Various searches, at different times returned conflicting information. So, I wasn’t really sure if Wayne Dyer was the correct source to cite, or not.

After repeated attempts, I need to clarify that the phrase shared in the opening quote was indeed a favorite saying often shared by Wayne Dyer at his lectures and in his writing. If anything, Max Plank’s involvement would have been to provide the conceptual scientific framework from which Dyer paraphrased to creat a more poetic version. But there is no direct evidence that Plank was the original author.

Gaining perspective sounds like a relatively simply thing, but take from the wrong standpoint nothing could be more challenging.

I think self-help gurus miss this point of view, perhaps because it is so obvious. But then diagnosing the issue isn’t even an after thought much less something addressed up front. If it is noted, then a barrage of well-worn platitudes are share in place of counseling.
