Mornings are my power hours! But not exclusively. There are occasions where I feel tired and bedraggled, but lo and behold, once I get moving and immersed in the task at hand, I am surprisingly more productive than I ever imagined I’d be.

Maybe productivity is more of a mindset than we think. Stanford Psychologist, Carol Dweck actually wrote a book about it. Essentially, if we believe that we can develop our abilities through hard work and learning, then we can cultivate more productivity than if we believe that people are born a certain way and stuck in a fixed mindset. Ironically, a fixed mindset is the bane of both underachievers as well as overachievers. A growth mindset on the other hand opens the heart to one’s true potential.

I found Carol Dweck’s writing accessible and persuasive and believe it should be required reading for all astrologers, but more so, it should be required reading for anyone who has their chart read by an astrologer steeped in a fixed mindset, someone who believes we were “born this way.”
