Finding Your Person

“When you live up to your down as much as your up, you can then be OK with everything in between. Therein lies life.”

~ Julieanne O’Connor

We dated! But then I got cold feet and we broke up. Maybe it’s unusual to suggest we needed a cooling off period at all before we started seeing each other again — but no! Because things were that hot. Probably the biggest reason I asked her the question. Who doesn’t want “hot” for the rest of their life? She said, “Yes!”

Relationships are a lot like roller coasters, but such an odd way to get around the park of life. However, even in the up’s and down’s, or on the jarring turns, the ride can be fun when you are situated in the car with the right person. If you can both just throw up your hands, when the time comes, and it is called for, just scream!

In time, you may find that you eventually roll to an easy and level stop. You may want to just sit there together, and never get out. To let the rip roaring times that just happened catch up with you and in a way settle down with your heart’s desire even with your hair still standing on end, and the rush of blood to your head, that perhaps was the sole reason for getting on the ride in the first place, subsides, a little more with every breath.

You’ve arrived! Together, you feel more comfortable in the car than ever before, with this person. For what you both have been through, yes, but mostly because you finally know the truth after all this time — that they are “your person.”
