Breaking the Lines: Towards a Radial Understanding of Time and Space

“Its Truth lies in the workings of the Cosmos, in the harmonies of the Spheres, and as long as these exist, so long will astrology live.”

~ Patrizia Norelli-Bachelet

I once thought I had astrology all figured out—but looking back, I can’t even remember why. Why was I so certain? Before I ever opened my first astrology book, I was a typical skeptic, quick to dismiss the sacred art without any serious study. My judgments weren’t rooted in evidence but in the rigidity of my priors, which refused to accept anything that didn’t fit neatly into the orderly box of science.

Today, seekers seem to have developed an addiction to prediction, distorting both the true purpose of astrology and its efficacy. Astrology is not about knowing where every single snowdrop falls.

Prediction can be challenging, and even the “von Neumann neighborhood” has its own limitations in locality. With its decidedly linear and directional, orthogonal approach, this framework’s simplified geometry may restrict connectivity and narrow the scope of interactions.

The shape of the von Neumann neighborhood shares a spatial organization similar to that of Vedic (Rasi) charts, both conveying interconnectedness, albeit for vastly different purposes. Each approach is rooted in scientific adjustments and relies on structured frameworks to predict outcomes and create order and meaning from complex systems—one through metaphysical insights, the other through mathematical rigor.

The greatest gift I ever received was the moment I turned on the television years ago and saw Robert Wilkerson presenting the Map of Manifestations on a local access station. As the principal student of Patrizia Norelli-Bachelet, his work introduced me to her profound insights. Her approach stands in stark contrast to orthogonal frameworks; it embodies something akin to radial symmetry or circular organization, emphasizing flow, recurrence, and relationships in all directions rather than being confined to perpendicular axes. Moreover, her conception of the Simultaneity of Time offers a groundbreaking vision—one that transcends and deepens ideas only hinted at in earlier works of philosophy and spirituality.
